Vervio (mt. 549)
The tiny village of Vervio seems protected from Mount Masuccio above it.
The typical local catch for its simplicity and the presence of the Church
of St. Hilary increases the charm: its interior is visible the first work
of the painter Grosina valors Cipriano, a triptych of 1551 that within
three niches depicting the Madonna and Child, St. Hilary and St. John
the Baptist.
Vervio is the destination for hikers, with trails leading up to the lakes
of Schiazzera, at an altitude 2109 m, where a shelter, housed in an old
barracks of the Guardia di Finanza, offers magical stay, or to the Valley
Poschiavo.
